The Frame Around Your Tool

A tooling die set is not the stamping tool itself — it is the rigid frame that holds the punch, die and forming parts in alignment through every press stroke. Whether you order a standard base or build a custom mould set around your own layout, the die set determines how accurately your tooling stays aligned over production runs.

What a Die Set Contains

Most die sets are built from the same core components, arranged around your tool layout.

01
Upper & Lower Plates
The main plates that carry the die components and mount to the press.
02
Guide Post & Bushing
Keep the upper and lower halves aligned stroke after stroke.
03
Spacer & Support Blocks
Set shut height and support the plates against press load.
04
Clamping Plates
Hold punch and die retainers firmly in the plate stack.

Standard Base or Custom Mould Set?

Most projects fall into one of two paths.

Standard Die Sets Custom Mould Bases
Layout Pre-configured plate sizes and post positions Built to your drawing and plate layout
Best for High-volume progressive dies with known sizes Special equipment, prototypes or non-standard dimensions
Standards MISUMI / HASCO / DME reference Whatever your tooling already uses
Material Tool steel / pre-hardened / mild steel options Per drawing or application requirements

What to Confirm Before Ordering

Send these details and we can review whether a standard base fits or a custom set is needed.

□ Overall plate length and width
□ Shut height / spacer thickness
□ Press mounting hole pattern
□ Guide post position and type
□ Plate material requirement
□ Standard compatibility (MISUMI/HASCO/DME)
□ Any special opening or cutout
□ Quantity and delivery target

Plate Machining

CNC milling, surface grinding and wire EDM for plate faces, mounting holes and spacer bores.

Guide Components

Guide posts and bushings machined to tight tolerance for repeatable die-half alignment.

Inspection

Flatness, parallelism and hole positions checked before shipment. ISO 9001:2015 process.

What to Send Us

If you already have a die set drawing, send it directly. If you are starting from the part, share the stamping die layout or part drawing along with the press model. We will check whether a standard base works or whether a custom mould set is the right approach.

Common Questions

What is the difference between a standard die set and a custom mould base?+
Standard die sets use pre-configured plate sizes and guide post positions. Custom mould bases are built from your own drawing when plate dimensions, mounting holes or cutouts fall outside standard ranges.
Are your die sets compatible with MISUMI, HASCO or DME?+
Standard configurations follow common industry reference systems. If your tooling already uses a specific standard, mention it in the inquiry and we will confirm whether plate layout and guide positions match.
Can you build a die set from my own drawing?+
Yes. Most custom mould bases are produced from customer-supplied drawings. Send the plate layout, guide positions and mounting requirements, and the engineering team will review manufacturability.

Need a Die Set or Mould Base?

Send your die set drawing, plate requirements or mounting details. We'll check dimensions and machining approach, then come back with questions or a proposal.
